Training
Jensen Hughes offers industry professionals the opportunity to receive unmatched knowledge sharing through hands-on and accredited online training courses, ranging from fire suppression systems, smoke control and industrial hazards to security, emergency communications and healthcare life safety.
Providing Industry-Leading Fire Protection Systems + Life Safety Training
For any professional involved in fire protection and life safety systems, training should include more than the basics. It should encompass knowledge of codes and standards, fire prevention and protection measures, and address electrical safety hazards. Ranging from fire suppression systems safety training and installation, to electrical safety, smoke control and emergency communications, our online training platform, Jensen Hughes Academy, provides unmatched knowledge sharing in the industry. Our experts are consistently involved in developing and delivering programs developed for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). We are also a provider of continuing education credits for the International Association of Continued Education (IACET) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). We also specialize in online and hands-on training and drills to help healthcare facilities reduce the potential for loss of life and injury during fire emergencies, while ensuring regulatory and Life Safety Code® compliance.
Our Online Fire + Life Safety Training Courses
Jensen Hughes Academy is an IACET-Approved Provider of CEUs. Our training development process and record-keeping meet the elite ANSI standard for training developed by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training.
Healthcare Fire Safety Training
There are a couple of primary reasons for the loss of life in healthcare facilities. They include a lack of attention or knowledge of fire prevention techniques, improper fire procedures that don’t complement the fire protection features in the building, and inadequate fire drill procedures in healthcare facilities, special handling of sophisticated equipment and the complex and special needs of patients.
We develop appropriate, hands-on training and drills to reduce the potential loss of life and injury in a fire emergency.
Annual Fire Safety Training Services
Annual training services include training for staff and leadership on fire procedures, current case studies on outcomes of recent fires and a telephone helpline for safety and regulatory compliance-related questions.
Fire Drills
We can complete fire drills for you or work with your internal team to make fire drills a meaningful experience — not just checking a box to maintain compliance. Drill effectively and respond efficiently.
Healthcare Fire Safety Training Services
We’ve trained more than 200k healthcare leadership and staff on suppression, smoke awareness, sheet slide bed removal techniques and surgical fires. Our belief is that staff and leadership won’t respond to a fire unless they’re trained under realistic conditions.
We also provide educational opportunities for residents to focus on fire prevention, fire safety and their response during a fire (assisted living/senior independent living). Our healthcare fire safety training services include:
- Healthcare Fire Training
- Leadership Training
- Resident Training
- Fire Safety Training Videos

Surgical Fire Training, Prevention + Management
Surgical fires have reduced over time — this is due to a variety of factors, but effective training and education is a critical component of this reduction. We’ve been on the leading edge of surgical fire prevention and training for over fifteen years.
Our teams have reviewed hundreds of surgical fire events, trained thousands of staff and presented to many local, state and national associations on this topic. Many jurisdictions require ongoing surgical fire training.
So how can you ensure you’re compliant? In-person or online, we can help.
